Ethical and legal considerations are important when counselling someone face-to-face, online or over the phone. The legal side of counselling does vary from country to country, so it is important that you are aware of the legal and ethical requirements when you are planning to work/counsel. In this course, you will learn why ethics is so important in counselling, about mandatory and aspirational ethics, what informed consent is, confidentiality, and what to do in extreme cases of dealing with suicidal clients.
