We see dogs that can do amazing things. Dog actors, performing dogs, sheep-herding dogs, rescue dogs, sniffer dogs - dogs can be trained to do so many things. Then there is also the family pet dog, whose owner would be happy if they would sit and stay when told. The principals involved in getting a dog to sit and getting a dog to sniff out bombs are the same. It is simply rewarding their correct behaviour.
